As a contractual partner, brands may ask for footprint data from you in two ways:
You fill in data for the steps you're responsible for, like garment manufacturing, and your supply chain partners fill in their own information. You cannot change the data they provide, but you can add missing information.
You fill in data for the entire supply chain, including yarn, fabric, wet processing, and product details. You collect data from your partners and input it yourself on the platform.
Choose the method that suits you and your brand best.
Here's an explanation of each field on the provide data tab:
Yarn
Yarn
For the yarn, you will be asked to provide the following information about the yarn(s) present in the final product.
Start by providing information about Yarn 1.
Reference for this yarn: provide a reference for the yarn; this helps to recognise the yarn for other partners, such as the knitter/weaver. This is a mandatory field.
Spinning method: choose one of the spinning methods from the dropdown. This is a mandatory field.
Yarn count refers to the thickness of a yarn and is determined by its mass per unit length. If the yarn is double/plied or triple yarn, please mention the yarn count of the single yarn. Additionally, indicate whether it is a single, double, or triple yarn in the reference field. This is a mandatory field.
Unit: choose one of the drop-down options (Nm, Denier, Tex, Dtex, Ne1). This is a mandatory field.
For each yarn, add the fiber details.
If a yarn consists of more than one fiber, you can add another fiber by clicking on the button Add fiber.
Type of Fiber: select one of the options from the dropdown. This is a mandatory field.
%: Add how much of this fiber is used to make the yarn. This cannot be more than 100%, and if it is less than 100%, please add an extra fiber. Use rounded numbers; no decimals are allowed. This is a mandatory field.
Energy use:
Add the energy used to make the yarn.
Energy use per km of yarn: this is calculated in kWh. No decimals are allowed.
Percentage of wind energy used: of your energy use, what percentage is provided by wind energy? This cannot be more than 100%; no decimals are allowed.
Percentage of solar energy used: of your energy use, what percentage is provided by solar energy? This cannot be more than 100%; no decimals are allowed.

Transport data:
Finally, add the transport data to the next partner.
Mode of transport: choose one of the options for transportation.
Distance: add the distance, no decimals.
Unit: choose one of the units (Km, Nautic miles, miles).
Fabric
Fabric
As a fabric partner, you will be asked to provide the following information about the fabric(s) you have created.
If the yarn partner did not provide information about the yarn, you, as the fabric partner, can add the information.
If the yarn information has been filled in, continue filling in the fabric information.
Start with Fabric 1:
Reference for this fabric: provide a reference for the fabric; this helps to recognise the fabric for other partners in the supply chain. This is a mandatory field.
Type of fabric: choose one of the types of fabric from the drop-down. This is a mandatory field.
Choose the yarn(s) that are created by the yarn partner. If there is no information, you can add it yourself.
Yarn 1:
Type of yarn: select from the dropdown the reference of the yarn (for non-woven fabrics, fill in the fiber information)
Percentage: add the percentage of Yarn 1 used in the fabric.
Total: If the fabric is completely made from Yarn 1, add 100 percent. If the fabric is made of multiple yarns, you can add extra yarns (click on Add yarn).
Fabric weight: add the weight of the fabric.
Unit: choose one of the types of units for the weight.
Fabric width in cm: add the width of the fabric in centimetres.
Energy use:
Add the energy used to make the fabric.
Energy use per km of yarn: this is calculated in kWh. No decimals are allowed.
Percentage of wind energy used: of your energy use, what percentage is provided by wind energy? This cannot be more than 100%; no decimals are allowed.
Percentage of solar energy used: of your energy use, what percentage is provided by solar energy? This cannot be more than 100%; no decimals are allowed.

You can add extra fabrics by clicking on Add Fabric.
Accidentally added an extra piece of fabric? Click on the bin icon to delete the fabric.
Transport data:
Finally, add the transport data to the next partner.
Mode of transport: choose one of the options for transportation.
Distance: add the distance, no decimals.
Unit: choose one of the units (Km, Nautic miles, miles).
Wet Processes
Wet Processes
As a Dyeing, Printing, or Washing partner, you will be asked to provide information about your process.
Click on Add yarn or Add fabric to get started and add one or multiple processes of dyeing treatment, pre-treatment, or coating/finishing.
Dyeing treatment:
Reference for this dyeing treatment: provide a reference for the dyeing treatment; this helps to recognise the treatment for other partners in the supply chain. This is a mandatory field.
Type of Dye: select one of the drop-down options.
Shade: select a shade from the dropdown (pale, dark, not coloured, white, medium).
Process: select a process from the dropdown (pad-steam, jet, thermosol, jigger, air-jet, winch, semi-continuous).
Water use in liters per kg of fabric: add how much water is used per kg of fabric.
Pre-treatment:
Reference for this process: provide a reference for the pre-treatment process; this helps to recognise the fabric for other partners in the supply chain. This is a mandatory field.
Type of process: select one of the drop-down options.
Water use in liter per kg fabric: add how much water is used per kg of fabric.
Coating/Finishing:
Reference for this coating/finish: provide a reference for the fabric; this helps to recognise the coating/finish for other partners in the supply chain. This is a mandatory field.
Type of coating/finish: select one from the dropdown.
Water use in liter per kg fabric: add how much water is used per kg of fabric.
Printing:
Reference for this print: provide a reference for the print; this helps to recognise the process for other partners in the supply chain. This is a mandatory field.
Type of print: select one of the drop-down options.
Shade: select a shade from the dropdown (pale, dark, not coloured, white, medium).
Process: select a process from the dropdown (flat screen printing, rotational screen printing (AOP), ink jet printing, transfer printing, spraying).
Water use in liters per kg of fabric: add how much water is used per kg of fabric.
Energy use:
For each treatment, provide the energy use.
Energy use per kg fabric: this is calculated in kWh. No decimals are allowed.
Percentage of wind energy used: of your energy use, what percentage is provided by wind energy? This cannot be more than 100%; no decimals are allowed.
Percentage of solar energy used: of your energy use, what percentage is provided by solar energy? This cannot be more than 100%; no decimals are allowed.
Thermal energy used: in percentages. Select the source (gas, Coal or oil).

Finally, add the transport data to the next partner.
Mode of transport: choose one of the options for transportation.
Distance: add the distance, no decimals.

Product
Product
As the confectioning, sewing/assembling or contractual partner, you can provide the details for the final part of the product.
Product:
Product Category: select from the drop-down list.
Product type: select from the drop-down list (only available when the product category is filled).
Total product weight: in grams, add the total weight of one garment.
Fabric compositions:
The fabrics should be created by your fabric supplier. If no fabrics have been added by your fabric supplier, you can create the fabrics. Go to the Fabric tab.
Percentage of fabric in the product:
Add the percentages of each fabric in the garment. The total should be 100%.
Cutting waste:
For each fabric, add the cutting waste (in percentages).
Destination of the cutting waste: select one of the drop-down options (reuse, recycling, incineration, landfill, unknown).
Accessories:
You can add one or multiple accessories to the garment.
Reference for this accessory: add the reference number.
Type of accessories: select from the dropdown.
Material: add the material.
Weight: add the weight of the accessory in grams.
Number of accessories per product: if the garment has multiples of the same accessory, provide the total number. For example, 4 buttons.
Country of origin: select from the dropdown.
Post-treatment:
You can add one or multiple post-treatments to the garment.
Reference for this treatment: add the reference number.
Type of treatment: select from the dropdown.
Water use in liter per kg fabric: add how much water is used per kg of fabric.
Energy use:
Energy use per kg fabric: this is calculated in kWh. No decimals are allowed.
Percentage of wind energy used: of your energy use, what percentage is provided by wind energy? This cannot be more than 100%; no decimals are allowed.
Percentage of solar energy used: of your energy use, what percentage is provided by solar energy? This cannot be more than 100%; no decimals are allowed.
Thermal energy used: in percentages. Select the source (gas, Coal or oil).

Packaging:
Finally, add the packaging needed to ship the final product. You can add one or multiple packages.
Reference for this packaging: add the reference number.
Material: add the material.
Weight: add the weight of the packaging in grams.
Number of colli per packaging: add the number of items packed in this type of packaging.
Transport data:
Finally, add the transport data to the next partner or the final destination.
Mode of transport: choose one of the options for transportation.
Distance: add the distance, no decimals.
Unit: choose one of the units (Km, Nautic miles, miles).
Note: When adding transport data, particularly for waterways or sea routes, be careful with the distance and units you enter. Use the sea-distance measurer to calculate the distance in either nautical miles or kilometers.
To track the progress of collecting footprint data, use color indication of the dots next to each step:
Red: Incomplete step
Yellow: Partially complete step
Green: Fully filled-in step
